Elizabeth F. Pharo | Chair
Elizabeth Pharo is the Chair of the Board of Directors at Momentum Telecom, Inc. Liz recently served as Chair of the Board of Directors for SuccessEHS and led a successful sale to Vista Equity Partners.
Liz has raised approximately $90 million in investment capital for Momentum and has contributed to the growth of Momentum’s retail business sales. She also played a pivotal role in moving Momentum’s headquarters to the Birmingham Business District, furthering the company’s commitment to the Birmingham region. Liz continues to shape the vision and success of Momentum as the company accelerates delivery of cloud communications throughout the US.
Liz spends much of her free time investing in the Birmingham community. She is currently on the Board of First Commercial Bank and on the Board of Malcovery, a company that provides products and services that provide the unique intelligence required to respond effectively to attacks on brand reputation and to disrupt phishing activities, and is a trustee of both the Altamont School and Birmingham-Southern College. She is also a member of the Young President’s Organization, the Birmingham Kiwanis Club and the Advisory Board of the Southern Research Institute. Liz chaired the Museum Ball for the Birmingham Museum of Art in 2015 and was honored to be named one of Birmingham’s Top 40 Under 40 by the Birmingham Business Journal in 2014.
A native of Birmingham, AL, Liz earned a Bachelor of Science in computer sciences from Birmingham-Southern College. She is married with four children and enjoys running.
Bill Fox | CEO
Bill Fox previously served as Chief Financial Officer of SuccessEHS, Inc, a software and services company for physician offices with approximately 400 employees. Bill has experience as an investment banker with Lincoln International, where he specialized in debt capital financings for middle market leveraged buyouts, and worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers, which provides audit and assurance, tax and consulting services. Bill received an MBA with Distinction from Harvard Business School and a BS in Business Administration and Accounting from Washington and Lee University. Bill is an active volunteer with the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America and enjoys cycling, golf, fly fishing, and skiing. Bill is married to his college sweetheart, Allyson, and has three children.
Todd Zittrouer | President & COO
Todd Zittrouer brings more than 12 years of telecommunications experience to the team. Previously, Todd served as the President & COO of IBBS and directed all operational activities for the company. Prior to joining IBBS and returning to Momentum in 2014, Todd was VP of Sales at Momentum Telecom where he was responsible for sales, sales support, post account management and training for the organization. Todd engages broadband providers and cable operators with a consultative style and a deep knowledge of IP-enabled communications services, which, in turn, enhances customers’ offerings and boosts their competitiveness. Before working for Momentum the first time, he was a sales manager at Allegiance Telecom. Todd holds a bachelor of science degree in business management from State University of West Georgia.
Matthew Conroy | CFO
As Momentum’s CFO, Matthew Conroy brings a decade of investment banking, investment management and corporate finance experience with a focus on the telecom, media and technology (TMT) sectors. His corporate management experience spans tenures at Lehman Brothers and Time, Inc. Matthew also has industry knowledge working as a consultant on several telecom mergers, including Bell Atlantic – GTE, AT&T – MediaOne, and WorldCom-Sprint, plus from advising a variety of clients on wireless radio spectrum auctions. Matthew earned a B.A. magna cum laude in Economics from Washington University in Saint Louis, and went on to graduate magna cum laude, Order of the Coif from Cornell Law School with a juris doctor and a concentration in corporate law and taxation.
Mark Marquez | Executive Vice President of Technology
Mark Marquez has over fifteen years of senior project management and enterprise level architecture design in telecommunications and network infrastructure services. Since 1996, he has designed, managed, and implemented complex network and telecommunications infrastructures for small, medium, and enterprise companies including Exelon (PECO Energy), General Motors Acceptance Corporation (GMAC)/Berkadia Commercial Mortgage, DIAL Corp., B. Braun Pharmaceuticals and MAXIMUS Corporation. As Executive Vice President of the company, he is responsible for all network development, including internal and external networks, customer technology selection and implementation, and network technology operations and management. With his leadership and depth of knowledge, he designed and built a highly efficient and redundant technology infrastructure for the company. It is this technology that sets Momentum Telecom apart from its competitors. Mark is highly regarded within the hosted VoIP Industry as an expert of emerging technologies.
Chuck Piazza | Executive Vice President of Sales & Marketing
Chuck Piazza has more than 20 years of experience in the telecommunications industry, first-hand expertise of building a successful sales organization from the ground up and a proven track record of cultivating sales channels. Before joining Momentum, Chuck gained extensive executive experience including vice president roles at West IP Communications and Smoothstone IP Communications. As Momentum’s Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Chuck oversees the development and execution of strategies for accelerating sales growth in established and emerging markets.
Phillip Roland | Senior Vice President of Development
Phillip Roland joined IBBS in 2004 as a software developer and took on roles within product management, account management, and held the title of Director of Product Management before IBBS merged with Momentum Telecom in 2014. His early accomplishments at IBBS included the design and development of the first Broadband Explorer (BBX) mapping module and the enhancement and maintenance of the first IBBS data provisioning module. In his current position as Vice President of BBX Development, Phillip oversees the management of the software development team in the implementation of new BBX features and enhancements to increase operational efficiencies for Momentum Telecom customers. Previously, Phillip was a software developer at Mohawk, a Fortune 500 company, and later moved on to work as a software developer at Marketing Alliance. Phillip holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Systems from Georgia Southern University and an MBA from Kennesaw State University.
Scott Helms | Senior Vice President of Advanced Solutions
Scott Helms is a recognized industry veteran and thought leader in the broadband management business with over 20 years of experience as an architect for broadband systems (DOCSIS, xDSL, wireless, FTTx, etc.) and designing software for the broadband industry. As Momentum’s Senior Vice President of Advanced Solutions, Scott is spearheading the creation of Momentum’s center for excellence for broadband providers and is helping Momentum to reach new markets. Scott is currently a member of CableLabs inGeNeOs group, which develops standards for Proactive Network Maintenance (PNM) tools.
Mark Hayes | Vice President of Voice Engineering
Mark Hayes has over 24 years of ILEC/CLEC operations experience and joined Momentum as part of the company’s recent merger with IBBS in 2014. Prior to serving as VP of CLEC Operations for IBBS and a member of the board of directors for Singlepipe, he was founder, co-owner and President of CLEC services for ALEC, Inc., a wholesale CLEC and ISP providing voice, data, ATM/DSL, Long Distance and special access throughout a nine state service area. Prior to ALEC, Mark was Director of CLEC operations for DURO Communications and Operations Manager for Xspedius Networks and ACSI Inc. where he designed, developed and maintained CLEC networks. He has also held technical positions with independent operating telephone companies and Siemens, Inc.
Jennifer Jacobs | Vice President of Customer Experience
Jennifer Jacobs started at Momentum in 2002 and has been instrumental to Momentum’s success over the years. She has been key to the company’s early success in residential voice and was key to quality assurance over that product. Jennifer was also critical to our transition to a VoIP company in 2004 and managing the successful transition. Jennifer is responsible for our Retail customer experience from service delivery through to customer support and account management. Her background in operations, customer service, automation, and scalability will be crucial to our success in continuing to build and support Momentum’s Retail business. Jennifer received her Bachelor of Science degree in Consumer/Industrial Marketing from the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, AL.
Tara Kelley | Vice President of Customer Experience
Tara Kelley leverages more than 15 years of expertise in leading account and project management teams. With her past experience leading complex projects at IBBS and Hewlett Packard and her ability to develop strong customer relationships, Tara possesses a unique skill set that combines a commitment to customer satisfaction with the drive to deliver projects on time. Her diverse background in the technology sector includes SAP deployments, international call center launches and cable system conversions.
Shawn Nauert | Vice President of Sales
Shawn Nauert brings with him almost 20 years of telecommunications experience and expertise. He was involved in building Smoothstone IP Communications from the ground floor into a global organization, and most recently was West IP Communications’ Vice President of Unified Communication Sales. In the past Shawn gained extensive experience through roles including Regional Sales Manager, Global Sales Manager, RVP of Sales, VP of Sales, VP of Strategic Development and VP, Partner Channel. As Vice President of Sales for Momentum, Shawn will manage and grow Momentum’s channel partner and master agent channel for sales. Shawn graduated from University of Louisville.
