Geographic Redundancy

Momentum Telecom’s network is geographically redundant – ensuring a business continuity solution your company can count on. Geographically separated data facilities and platform design have been engineered to protect against server failure, regional networking failures and natural disasters.

Data Center Redundancy & Failover

Momentum Telecom operates paired BroadSoft® switches in five data centers located across the country. This pairing offers high-availability by utilizing session border controller clustering. Local and geographic server redundancy provides zero downtime on upgrades and repairs.

Voice System and Solution Architecture

Momentum Telecom delivers a wide range of communications services with our carrier-grade platform built on BroadSoft®, Acme Packet®, IBM®, Cisco® and Microsoft® technologies interconnecting with over 15 major carriers. The Momentum network peers with Tier-1 Domestic & International carriers and allows for flexible number design, increased redundancy, and reduced risk with a massively scalable design.

Network Continuity & Redundancy

Momentum Telecom can connect into your network through a variety of options including: Broadband, T-1 circuits or an MPLS network – Bring Your Own Bandwidth or Momentum-provided access. Our dedicated team of Sales Engineers will work with you to utilize your current network before expanding to other options. Momentum’s custom deployments can run from a simple Direct Internet Access (DIA) install, all the way up to creating a hybrid cloud that ensures that your network never hits the “public” internet.

Inside the Data Center

Our Class 5 BroadSoft® cloud-based platform with advanced PBX functionality is designed with a high level of reliability, approaching 99.9999%. Every component in the data center has active redundancy in a high availability configuration with session border clustering for industry-leading performance and capacity.

PSTN / Carrier Redundancy

We have multiple paths to the PSTN network including multiple carriers and multiple gateway interconnection points for the highest reliability. Momentum Telecom originates and terminates “off-network” calls with Tier-1 providers around the world.

Customized Solutions

Momentum Telecom will work with your network team to upgrade and help manage the voice layer of your network to maximize call quality. Momentum utilizes best practices including: separation of SIP and RTP, voice VLAN networking, and WAN Link redundancy to ensure the highest quality of service and best possible customer experience.

Customized integration into customer LAN

Momentum Telecom has completed thousands of customized network deployments, tailoring our solution to maximize quality on your network and LAN environment. Momentum has a dedicated Sales Engineering team that is responsible for conducting site assessments and recommending the best solution for your company. We can design solutions to specialized vertical requirements to optimize our services alongside critical business operations.

Separation of SIP & RTP

This diagram illustrates the separation of SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) messaging and RTP (Real Time Protocol) streams. SIP is used to initiative communications between two endpoints, and voice / video is contained in the RTP stream. Once a PSTN call is negotiated by Momentum Telecom (SIP), the media (RTP) is directly setup between endpoints. The RTP stream does not need to relay off of Momentum’s Class 5 switching infrastructure.

Gateway Built Down to Customer

Momentum Telecom’s recommended voice appliance (EdgeMarc) does inbound/outbound QoS (Quality of Service) as it sits in front of the customer’s data network. It manages registration to multiple Momentum data centers and can act as a primary firewall or use a proxy ARP/bridge mode so that voice/data can converge on the same circuit without issues.
