A Jack Nicklaus Signature Design, Grand Bear Golf Club opened in 1999 to widespread fanfare and near universal acclaim. Built six miles into the DeSoto National Forest, the course offers a seemingly private golf experience as no two holes parallel another, and homes, roads, or other distractions are absent while on property. In its place, the golfer is alone to enjoy the pristine natural environment, where the manicured course conditions meet the towering pines and surrounding cypress wetlands, facing the challenge of the trademark Nicklaus design, while being treated to superior customer service from bag drop at arrival to the warm farewell. Through a partnership with the Abadi Group, Momentum Telecom was able to meet Grand Bear’s need for speed, elevating the golfers’ experience, and empowering employees to thrive.

Challenges

After struggling with poor voice/phone and Wi-Fi quality due to low internet speeds, Grand Bear knew they were going to need a change. Challenges began to arise when their prior carrier was unable to provide additional copper. Timing was also an obstacle in this project, as Grand Bear would soon be hosting a PGA event, so quick turnaround was a must. 

Solution

Looking for an affordable and timely solution, Momentum was able to provide faster internet and fiber connectivity, along with better overall service quality. Grand Bear was also able to benefit from Momentum’s creative ability when it came to design,
install, and implementation. Flexibility and availability of options for underlying implementation and support was a huge priority for Grand Bear, and by going with Momentum, there was an ease of doing business.

Results

Momentum has improved Grand Bear’s internet service drastically, providing a much faster and more reliable product. The improvement of the speed of service has bettered productivity as well as overall guest experience. Momentum and Abadi Group work better together!
