The Momentum team is heading to San Diego next week to meet with NCTC and ACA members for three days of educational sessions, exhibits and social events at the 2013 Independent Show.
We can’t wait for the information-packed sessions, speakers and exhibits this year, as well as catching up with old friends and meeting new ones.
Here are 5 things that we can’t wait to do and see at the Independent Show this year:
1. Roundtable Discussions | Monday, July 29 | 1:30 p.m.
NCTC and ACA members will have the opportunity to discuss industry issues, share opinions and develop strategies. Each discussion will be led by an expert on the subject to facilitate the conversation. Session topics include the following: Dos and Don’ts of Channel Line Ups, TV Everywhere: Where Is It and Where Does It Go From Here?, Bandwidth Reclamation, and Copyright & Broadband Map.
2. Managing the “Trade” Winds in Washington & Beyond | Tuesday, July 30 | 8:00 a.m.
ACA President and CEO Matt Polka will discuss the changing climate in business, technology and government, and look at ways to ensure a bright future for independent cable operators and telecom companies.
3. Luncheon with Glenn Beck | Tuesday, July 30 | 12:15 p.m.
Glenn Beck of Fox News will talk about his “media metamorphosis” as he transitioned from a news anchor on a traditional media channel and launched his own Internet TV network, GBTV, with a extremely successful subscription model.
4. Changes in the Video Business Model: Strategies for Survival and Growth | Tuesday, July 30 | 2:55 p.m.
Matt Stump of One Touch Intelligence will lead a panel in a discussion about the key trends and strategies for continuing growth in the video business including cord cutting, rising costs and lack of capacity.
5. Daily Exhibitions | Monday, July 29 – Tuesday, July 30
