“Momentum is truly a gem in the Birmingham community,” said Bill. “I’m excited to be working for a company that continues to provide best-in-class services to our customers and that our employees are proud to work for.”
– Bill Fox, President & CEO of Momentum

It’s an exciting time for Momentum. The company’s workforce has grown by more than 50% in the past 12 months, retail sales are up 500% year to date, and most recently, Bill Fox joined the Momentum team as its new President & CEO.

Bill grew up in Syracuse, New York and was inspired to study business by his grandfather, who was a very successful businessman. Bill respected his grandfather for the impact he made in people’s lives through his business, and he knew that he wanted to do the same.

Bill earned a BS in Business Administration and Accounting from Washington and Lee University, and made the decision to continue his studies by receiving an MBA with Distinction from Harvard Business School. Bill explained that his goal during school was to move away from individual merger and acquisition transactions and to be more involved with the long-term goals and big-picture strategies of a company.

Today, that’s exactly what he’s doing. In fact, Bill says that his involvement with Momentum’s long-term business planning is one of the things he’s most excited about in his new position.

“It’s so rewarding to be in a position where I can both mentor and learn.” said Bill. “Momentum has already experienced such tremendous success this year, and I’m really looking forward to watching the company continue to flourish and succeed. Momentum’s growth rate is something that not many businesses get to experience.”

Bill brings more than three years of experience with Momentum to his new position as CEO, having played a role in the company’s merger and acquisition strategy, acted as interim Chief Financial Officer in 2011 and continuing to serve as a member of the Board of Directors. He says the relationships he’s built over the past years with the other leaders and members on the team at Momentum have been invaluable during his transition.

Bill previously served as Chief Financial Officer of SuccessEHS, Inc, a software and services company for physician offices that grew from 175 employees to approximately 400 under his leadership. He also has experience as an investment banker with Lincoln International, where he specialized in debt capital financings for middle market leveraged buyouts, and worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers, which provides audit and assurance, tax and consulting services.

In the upcoming years, Bill wants to create a workplace culture at Momentum where employees, customers and shareholders are excited about the continual growth and success of the company.

“Momentum is truly a gem in the Birmingham community,” said Bill. “I’m excited to be working for a company that continues to provide best-in-class services to our customers and that our employees are proud to work for.”

Bill’s vision for Momentum’s workplace culture includes continuing to support Momentum’s forward-thinking telecommuting policies. Currently, Momentum has employees who work remotely full-time from more than a dozen different cities across the country.

“As any 21st-century CEO should be, I’m very results-driven,” said Bill. “Momentum has the technology that allows our employees to do their work and be productive from any location. That’s allowed us to have the industry’s best and brightest on our team, and that’s a win-win for everyone.”

In his free time, Bill is an active volunteer with the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America and enjoys cycling, golf, fly fishing, skiing and spending time with his family. He is married to his college sweetheart, Allyson, and has 3-month-old twin children, one boy and one girl.

As Birmingham transplants, Bill and Allyson say that they have enjoyed the southern hospitality they’ve experienced during the three years they’ve lived in Alabama.

“My family and I have received such a warm welcome in Birmingham and at Momentum these past weeks,” said Bill. “I’ve been blown away by the positive response I’ve already seen from our employees and customers. I’m really looking forward to the opportunities that lie ahead.”
